A private boat is the easiest way for a family to see the ghats — no crowds, your own timing, and children under 5 ride free.
Travel Guide
1 / 4
Families with young children or elderly parents often worry about crowds, steps and safety. A private boat solves most of this: you board at a convenient ghat, sit together, and the boatman goes at your pace.
Elderly parents or hot weather: AC Cruise — enclosed, air-conditioned and comfortable.
Big family or extended relatives: Bajra Boat for up to 30.
Morning or Evening with Kids?
Mornings are calm, cool and quieter — ideal for small children. Evenings are magical but the Aarti area is crowded; with kids, board at a quieter ghat and watch from the boat rather than the steps. The Assi Ghat evening Aarti is calmer than Dashashwamedh.
Family Tips
Children under 5 ride free and don't count towards capacity.
Keep life jackets on children for the whole ride.
For elderly guests, board at Assi, Ravidas or Namo Ghat — easier steps and road access.
